Stuck at Home
Sprites start their life as a colorful Spirograph ejected when a player opened the Cruxetruder for the first time. The booklet that comes with the game helpfully stated that this Sprite needed to be prototyped. This was described as placing an item in it. Due to experimentation it has been discovered that more then one item can be placed in the sprite for prototyping. Upon entering the players respective land, the sprite gains the ability to speak and changes appearances slightly.
The sprites seem to be a source of information but do not volunteer much. This maybe be due to how the sprites were prototyped or to do with the nature of sprites themselves. They are obviously limited, seeming to need to stay near the players home, and are restricted from talking about certain things. The sprites seem to be aware of their limitations in some way, one having described the information in their head as “riddlely”. It has been discovered that the sprites have some sort of combat ability, but this has not been displayed.
The prototyping has had some visible effect on the sprites personality and appearance, but that is not all. Both Prospitians and Dersites seem to get some sort of boon from what was prototyped before entering the Medium. The Black and White Queens are the most obvious examples of this effect, but itspossible that there are other effects.
